Before you hire another copywriting service to pick up the slack from the previous company, make sure you do your research. Is your Copywriting Service Using:

1) Hype Words

How often have you come across some online copy where a business  claims that their new product is “THE BEST”,  “AMAZING” or “CUSTOMER APPROVED”? How often has reading words like that encouraged you to purchase whatever they’re selling? When words and phrases like these are thrown around in the text, they come across as just space fillers to make the page look more complete instead of a sincere description of your work. If you over-exaggerate your content, no one will believe you. Leave the “amazing, customer approved” accolades to come from an “About Us” or testimonials page.

2) Discreditable Sources

Speaking of the testimonials page, make sure the copywriting service is using legitimate quotes from  actual clients. There’s nothing worse than inflated claims to boost sales.  Instead of just claiming customer satisfaction, show proof. Consider using the results of a customer (satisfaction) survey in your copy to increase credibility.

3) Straightforward Text

There’s no need to bombard clients with elaborate words or impress them with your extensive vocabulary. Keep your copy basic. If you have a  new product release, keep it simple and explain what is it and how it can benefit your clients. The average attention span of the online consumer is 6 seconds (yikes!). Rather than taking the risk of turning clients away and ruining your conversion, make sure your clients know who you are, what you do and why you’re the best company to accommodate their needs in a manner that’s short, sweet and to the point. If they’re satisfied with what they read, they’ll be interested in taking the next step.
