Rdio is Changing the Game with First-of-Its-Kind Artist Program

Sharing is caring!

This post is part of our Game Changer Series, which is dedicated to bringing uniquely inspiring artists into the spotlight. Finding gems in a sea of similar talent, Nao does what it does best in the crowded music industry: Never Accept Ordinary.

This time, we’re not spotlighting one outstanding, up-and-coming artist. We’re highlighting a company that is helping to promote more of this new talent by paying artists who stream music. The Rdio Artist Program is the first of its kind, providing a platform for artists to share their own music and their music recommendations with fans.

Hungry fans will be able to listen to their favorite artists directly on the platform via Twitter, Facebook and more social pages soon to come. Artists will earn $10 for each new subscriber they attract to Rdio through social media, incentivizing them to ramp up their talent and their engagement with fans.

But, it’s not just something cool for the newbies. More established artists have also taken to the tool like Scissor Sisters, Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion), A-Trak, Chromeo, and Brendan Benson. They are among the first artists to join the program.

This sounds like a win-win; we get to listen to these incredible music masters whenever we want (and before the rest of mainstream America does), and the term “starving artist” may be no more. Spread the word!
